Dr. Juliana Zaharia

The Executive Director of the Albanian Institute of Social Integration

Presentation Topic: Analyzing the impact of corruptive affairs and political corruption as acts of abuse with human rights and the response to social integration in Democracy

Dr. Juliana Zaharia has many years of work experience as a project manager, as well as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Tirana “Nënë Tereza”. After graduating in social work, she completed Master’s studies in social work research and doctoral studies in youth policies. Her academic work and research expertise includes social policy planning, youth work, forensic social work and social services administration. Also, she has participated in a number of international conferences and has published a number of scientific articles in well-known indexed journals.

Dr. Meryem Geçimli

An assistant professor at Kahramanmaraş İstiklal University, Turkey

Presentation Topic: The importance of sustainable interior design

Dr. Meryem Gecimli focuses in interior architecture, sustainable design, and game-based design education applications. She acquired her master’s degree (2015) and proficiency in the arts (2020) from Anadolu University in Turkey. She got second place at the Sustainable Transformation Competition at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2018. In addition, she has received numerous honors, including platinum and honorable mention, in Turkey’s Furniture Design Competitions.

Dr. Carlene Turner

Professor & Department Chair, Sociology Department, Norfolk State University, United States

Keynote Speech Title: Funding Social Science Research

Dr. Carlene Turner is the department chair and a professor in the Department of Sociology at Norfolk State University. She is the Principal Investigator of a National Science Foundation Excellence in Research project with the goal of investigating socio-cybersecurity in organizations across Hampton Roads. She has also completed two additional projects funded by the National Science foundation. Dr. Turner is a quantitative methodologist and has conducted studies utilizing large datasets on self-care among elderly African Americans since 2006. She has also conducted community research using surveys, focus groups, participatory action research and the life size me technique. As an instructor, she has taught social demography/stratification, incorporating GIS in the mapping component of the course. Most recently, she conducted a Tracer Study of Norfolk State Students on their learning outcomes based on the Socio-Cybersecurity project.

Full time lecturer of Text Analysis, Written English, Semantics and Linguistic Diversity and Intercultural Communication in the Department of Foreign Languages in “Fan S. Noli” University, Faculty of Education and Philology, Korça, Albania. Graduated and post graduated in English Teaching, holding a PhD degree in Linguistics, in the field of Didactics. The Field of study focused on Socio-didactic Approaches and in the role of Intercultural Communication in the teaching- learning process. Dr. Lorena Robo

Lorena Robo – lecturer of Text Analyses, Psychology of Teaching of Foreign Languages, Testing, Assessment and Standards in foreign language modules and ESP at “Fan S. Noli” University, Faculty of Education and Philology, Department of Foreign Languages, graduated in English Language in 2006 and post graduated in Linguistics holding a PhD degree more specifically in lexicology, phraseology studies. Participant in various international conferences and journals with articles related to methodology and linguistics as well.

Rev Wadigala Samitharathana

Rev Wadigala Samitharathana is a reader in philosophy at Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. He has also studied philosophy with psychology at University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. In addition, he has been engaged in plenty of academic work as a prominent member of the Royal Institute of Philosophy in London, UK as well as American Philosophical Association in New York, USA. Furthermore, Rev Wadigala is very eager to study and research some particular domains in philosophy of religion, science along with language.

Prof. Evridiki Zachopoulou

She is professor at the International Hellenic University, Greece (IHU), Dept. of Early Childhood Care & Education, and is currently Dean of the School of Social Sciences. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various Universities. She has published over 65 papers in scientific journals, and she has coordinated and participated in European funded research projects.

Ms. Paulina Schindler

Paulina Schindler is a research associate at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, teaching students in the field of business informatics and researching as part of the “Liberty”-research branch. After receiving her B. Sc. in E-Commerce and M. Sc. in Business Informatics, she is currently researching on the topics fake news, intermediaries, social media, hate speech and quantum computing.

Dr. Iris Gertner

Dr. Iris Gartner Moryosef is full time lecturer from Hadassah Academic College in Jerusalem specialized in Marketing Strategy and consumer behavior topics. In 2014 she completed her doctoral studies at the University of Pecs, Hungary, on consumer behavior amongst first time mothers. Her main research focuses on service satisfaction, consumer behavior and buying decision among mothers after childbirth.

Dr. Tlou Raphela

Tlou Raphela is a socio-environmental scientist, with an interest in how the social issues interface with the environment holistically. She developed an interest in human-wildlife conflict because she believes human and animals can live together in harmony . Since joining the UFS, and teaching the mental Disaster Mental Health ; Public and mental health modules, she developed a strong interest in the Psychosocial impacts of disasters and will be focusing her research and creating a niche around that.

Dr. Domingo Alberto Ruelas Calloapaza

Domingo Alberto Ruelas Calloapaza is doctor in Health Sciences, is an undergraduate and postgraduate professor at the National University of Altiplano in Puno city, he has the quality of RENACYT research professor by CONCYTEC and is Coordinator of the doctoral program in Health Sciences at UNA, Puno. Among his areas of interest are native and foreign languages, veterinary sciences and health sciences.

Dr. Mihaela Aghenitei

Mihaela Aghenitei is a PhD Lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administrative Sciences at the University of the “Lower Danube” and participates in a grant funded from the funds of the research project carried out by the University “Lower Danube” from Galati. She is an associate researcher at the Institute of Legal Research – Romanian Academy and a member of ELI and ESIL. She has published 81 articles indexed in national and international databases and 5 specialized books in criminal law.

Dr. Ece Özinan

Dr. Ece Özinan after completing her undergraduate and graduate studies at Haliç University Theater Department, completed her doctorate in Istanbul University Theater Criticism and Dramaturgy. She is still a lecturer at Haliç University Conservatory Theater Department.

Ms. Patrycja Cheba is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the Jagiellonian University. She is a member of the Polish Society for Social Communication and editor of the scientific electronic half-yearly magazine Com.press. Her research interests include social campaigns in social media, user behavior on the Internet and brand marketing communication.

Mr. Osman Sert

Mr. Osman Sert is a Ph.D. student and research assistant in History at Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. He received a Magna Cum Laude degree from his master’s studies in Middle Eastern and North African History at Tel Aviv University in Israel. His master’s thesis is dedicated to museum management and the memory politics of the Turkish Jewish community of Turkey. His current doctoral dissertation project is about the Ottoman Imperial diasporic policies for Ottoman Jewish communities in the Habsburg Empire and the Balkans during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Meryem Geçimli graduated from Selçuk University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, then finished her Master’s degree in 2015 and Proficiency in Arts in 2020 at Anadolu University. Now she is working as an Asst. Prof. at Kahramanmaraş İstiklal University.
